Overview

  • Registered balcony PV systems have surged from around 780,000 in May to nearly one million by June 2025 on the strength of Solarpaket 1 changes.
  • Solarpaket 1 raised the plug-in feed-in limit to 800 watts and cut red tape by simplifying Bundesnetzagentur registration.
  • Plug-and-play solar-plus-storage bundles now start at about €1,070 for 880 Wp kits and run up to 3,000 Wp with expandable battery capacity up to 12 kWh.
  • Next-generation batteries like the Anker SOLIX Solarbank 3 Pro and EcoFlow STREAM Ultra offer AI-driven energy management, base capacities of 2.7 kWh and 1.9 kWh, and modular expandability to 16 kWh or 12 kWh respectively.
  • AC-coupled systems let users power appliances directly with up to 2,300 W to bypass the 800 W grid cap and improve self-consumption payback to just a few years.
