Germany Merges Disability Pension Supplement Into December Payments

The change folds the Rentenzuschlag into regular transfers, creating a single line on statements with knock‑on effects for taxation and benefit assessments.

Overview

  • November brings the final separate Rentenzuschlag payout in mid‑month, after which the supplement no longer appears as its own entry on bank statements.
  • From 1 December 2025 the supplement is included in the monthly pension for those with Erwerbsminderungsrenten starting 2001–2018 at rates of 7.5% or 4.5%, with formal notices sent to affected recipients.
  • Because 30 November falls on a Sunday, many post‑2004, pay‑in‑arrears pensions are due to arrive early on Friday, 28 November.
  • Cash disbursements have ended after the 30 October portal deadline; missing bank details can trigger a suspension with amounts held by the Renten‑Service.
  • The Deutsche Rentenversicherung says the higher income from integration will count for means‑tested benefits such as widows’ pensions only from 1 July 2026, while experts warn the higher gross pension may increase income tax and solidarity surcharge.
