Germany Maps Weeks of Autobahn Closures as Kaiserberg Rebuild Forces 10-Day A3 Shutdown

Published timetables show planned detours during bridge removals at key interchanges.

Overview

  • The A3 will be closed in both directions between Kreuz Oberhausen-West and Kreuz Breitscheid from 7 November at 21:00 to 17 November at 05:00 to remove connecting bridges at Kreuz Kaiserberg, Autobahn GmbH said.
  • Preparatory ramp closures at Kaiserberg start on 29 October at 21:00, blocking A3 toward Cologne to A40 toward Venlo and Essen until mid‑2027, with other long-running ramp bans already in place since winter 2024/25.
  • The A40 will shut between Kreuz Duisburg and AS Kaiserberg from 17 October at 21:00 to 20 October at 05:00 for demolition of an old bridge; several A3↔A40 links will also be unavailable during that weekend window.
  • Berlin’s VIZ scheduled multiple night closures on the A100/A111 through mid‑October, including Kurfürstendamm–Spandauer Damm (7–10 Oct, 21:00–05:00), full closures between Heckerdamm/Jakob‑Kaiser‑Platz and Hohenzollerndamm (13–14 and 16–17 Oct), and a weekend shutdown at Innsbrucker Platz (10 Oct 20:00–13 Oct 05:00).
  • On the A1 Weserbrücke near Bremen, staged works are causing persistent long queues and reported logistics delays, with one direction restricted through 2027 and a separate replacement bridge targeted to begin in the early 2030s, according to Deges.
