Germany Funds 30 Rural Culture Projects Under Aller.Land Initiative

Each selected initiative will receive €1.5 million from a €45 million fund running through 2030 to support community ties through cultural programming.

Overview

  • The federal government will invest €45 million from 2025 to 2030 through the Aller.Land program to strengthen cultural life in rural communities.
  • Thirty projects selected from 97 applications will each receive €1.5 million to host festivals, artist residencies or convert vacant buildings into community hubs.
  • The Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung is co-financing the initiative alongside federal states contributing 10 percent of project costs.
  • Funded projects span Germany with two in Brandenburg – “LAND. Nutzen – VIELFALT. Leben” in Barnim and “Doppel:punkt – Zwei Museen für Zusammenhalt” in Ostprignitz-Ruppin.
  • The program seeks to broaden cultural diversity beyond metropolitan centres and boost citizen participation and democratic engagement in the countryside.
