Overview

  • A quasi-stationary low-pressure disturbance between Greenland and Iceland is maintaining heavy rain, hail and gusty winds across much of Germany.
  • The Deutscher Wetterdienst has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of Bavaria, forecasting hail, wind gusts up to 60 km/h and localized flooding.
  • High pressure Ines arriving from Spain and Portugal is expected to build over Germany from Wednesday, bringing widespread sunshine and warmer air.
  • Daytime temperatures are forecast to exceed 30 °C in southern regions by Friday and into the weekend.
  • Overnight lows will remain cool at 6–12 °C in parts of Baden-Württemberg and the southwest even during the warm spell.
