Overview
- The A8 Albaufstieg toward Munich will be fully closed from Friday 31 October 21:00 to Monday 3 November 05:00 between Mühlhausen im Täle and Merklingen, with Autobahn GmbH directing long-distance traffic via A6/A7 and asking motorists to avoid ‘shortcuts’ and disable navigation apps.
- A6 near Schnelldorf was fully closed after a pre-dawn crash in a work zone where a truck hit a heavy transport carrying a crawler excavator; a protruding boom pierced the cab, the driver suffered only minor injuries, and lanes reopened around 09:30.
- The A71 toward Sangerhausen remains shut between Arnstadt-Nord and Erfurter Kreuz after an overturned semi blocked the carriageway, with recovery complicated by the load and authorities diverting traffic via exits and local routes for hours.
- On the A4 near Friedewald/Hönebach a jackknifed truck broke through the concrete median and forced an eastbound closure; the signed L3069 diversion proved unsuitable for opposing heavy traffic, causing secondary blockages and difficult passes.
- A rear-end crash on the A7 at Dettingen an der Iller left one driver seriously injured and spilled edible oil from a damaged tanker, prompting extensive clean-up, prolonged closure from the Dettingen exit, and multi-kilometer queues.
