Germany Expects Largest Potato Crop Since 2000 on Bigger Plantings, Solid Yields

Preliminary government figures credit expanded planting alongside improved weather for the surge.

  • Supermarket prices for table potatoes were about 15% lower in August than a year earlier, with officials noting all figures are provisional.
