Germany Counts 21 New Lottery Millionaires From Year-End Draws

Capped, state-run year-end draws offered far better odds than regular Lotto, producing an unusual cluster of €1 million payouts.

Overview

  • Lotto Baden-Württemberg’s Silvester-Millionen created twelve €1 million winners in one day, a record for the state operator with the drawing held under notarial supervision in Stuttgart.
  • WestLotto’s MillionenKracher in North Rhine–Westphalia produced six €1 million winners from Cologne, Duisburg, Düren, Warendorf and the Hochsauerland district after 1.5 million tickets sold out before Christmas.
  • Additional wins included a €1 million Silvesterlotterie ticket from the district of Leer in Lower Saxony and a Neujahrs-Million winner in Ludwigshafen who must claim the prize without a customer card.
  • A player from the Mainz area secured more than €1.1 million in Eurojackpot just before New Year’s Eve, separate from the state year-end specials.
  • Lotteries are publishing winning numbers and urging players to check tickets and follow claim procedures, while Eurojackpot rises to €71 million for the first Friday drawing of 2026.
