Overview
- The Unity Hub, which opened Tuesday in Berlin, was launched by Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt and Ukraine’s Social Minister Denys Uljutin.
- Its main task is to advise Ukrainians on a possible return to their homeland, including help mapping job prospects and housing in Ukraine.
- The center offers language and civics classes, cultural events, help with passports and other documents, recognition of degrees, and links to jobcenters.
- The German government is funding the site, including paying the rent for its Berlin-Mitte location, within services for more than one million Ukrainians in Germany under EU temporary protection through March 4, 2027.
- The debut coincided with the first German–Ukrainian government consultations in more than 20 years in Berlin, and officials said they plan similar hubs in Czechia and Sweden.
