Germany Adds 18 New Entries to Intangible Cultural Heritage List

  • Baden-Württemberg contributed two traditions: distillation craftsmanship, noted for its sustainable practices, and bell-related traditions, encompassing casting, ringing, and music.
  • The biennial selection process is overseen by the Culture Ministers' Conference and the German UNESCO Commission to safeguard and promote cultural diversity.
  • The next application round for inclusion in the list will open on April 1, 2025, continuing efforts to preserve regional cultural practices.
