DHB President Andreas Michelmann notes the team's advancement into the extended world elite, consistently ranking between fifth and eighth.
The team, led by coach Markus Gaugisch, is currently in training and will compete against Ukraine, the Netherlands, and Iceland in the group stage.
Recent achievements include a sixth-place finish at last year's World Championships and qualifying for the Olympics for the first time in 16 years.
