German Women’s Football Team Targets Youth with KiKA Broadcast and Unique Matchday Experience

The DFB is introducing creative initiatives, including youth commentators and a halftime show with Bernd das Brot, to engage younger audiences during Nations League matches against Scotland.

The German women's national football team’s Nations League match against Scotland on April 8 will be broadcast live on the children’s channel KiKA for the first time.
Three young winners of a KiKA competition will serve as commentators and reporters during the match, supported by journalist Stephanie Baczyk.
The halftime show will feature Bernd das Brot, a popular German TV character, as part of efforts to blend sports with cultural elements.
The DFB has organized family-friendly stadium initiatives, including special seating for youth football teams and supervised children’s areas in the Wolfsburg venue.
Additional activities include inviting a school class to a training session and press conference on April 1 to further engage young fans and promote women’s football.
