German Teenager Dies in Swiss Hiking Accident, Companion Injured

Two 19-year-old women fell 50 to 80 meters in the Swiss Alps after straying from a marked trail, leaving one dead and the other hospitalized.

A 19-year-old German woman died after falling while hiking in the Balzenwald-Fruttlaui area near Linthal, Switzerland.
Her companion, also 19, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Chur for treatment.
The accident occurred on Saturday at an elevation of approximately 1,250 meters when the two hikers left the designated trail for unknown reasons.
