German Sternsinger Campaign Posts Record Totals in Bamberg and Nationwide Uptick

Youth groups across Germany built on last year’s momentum to channel over €48 million toward global child welfare projects, with Bamberg’s record €1.9 million haul leading the way.

Overview

  • Sternsinger teams from 357 parish groups in the Bamberg Archdiocese collected €1,903,645.96 in early 2025, surpassing the previous year’s €1.69 million total.
  • In the Würzburg diocese, 697 communities contributed €1,490,771.31, edging out the 2024 result by more than €23,000.
  • Across Germany 7,328 groups raised a combined €48,060,189.51 during the 67th Dreikönigssingen, up from €45.99 million in the prior campaign.
  • Donations will support education, health, nutrition and child protection initiatives in Colombia, Kenya and other partner countries.
  • Organizers are already preparing for the 68th campaign, which opens on December 30, 2025, in Pegnitz under the motto “School instead of FactorySternsingen against Child Labour.”
