German Shipyards Nobiskrug and FSG Secured by New Owners

Lürssen and Heinrich-Rönner-Group take over struggling shipyards, offering renewed hope for workers and future projects.

  • The Bremer Lürssen Group has acquired the Nobiskrug shipyard in Rendsburg, while the Heinrich-Rönner-Group will take over the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) in Flensburg.
  • Both shipyards, previously owned by Lars Windhorst's Tennor Group, faced insolvency proceedings in late 2024 due to prolonged financial difficulties.
  • The FSG site will collaborate with the Australian company SeaRoad to complete an unfinished ferry project, with work expected to resume soon after technical preparations.
  • Employees from both shipyards will initially transition to transfer companies before potentially rejoining under the new ownership, though not all may be retained immediately.
  • The new owners aim to revitalize the shipyards with a focus on maritime, defense, and renewable energy projects, including offshore wind infrastructure and naval vessels.
