  • The Bundesamt für Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit confirmed that a specific batch of Pauly Teff Mehl 2×400 g, batch L 25.02.023_2 with a best-before date of 30.08.2026, is contaminated with STEC E. coli.
  • Affected packages were sold in Baden-Württemberg, Bayern, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Schleswig-Holstein, Thüringen and Niedersachsen.
  • Infection with the toxin-producing bacteria can cause symptoms from bloody diarrhea to hemolytic-uremic syndrome and potential kidney failure, with highest risk for children, older adults and immunocompromised individuals.
  • Consumers are urged not to consume the product and to return unopened packages to the place of purchase for a full refund.
