Overview

  • Around 900 officers searched 27 properties across Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse during the July 1 operation.
  • Thirteen of those detained faced pretrial detention orders ranging in age from 20 to 38, and 14 plantation workers were provisionally arrested.
  • Investigators believe the network ran large-scale indoor cannabis farms and fueled a million-euro black-market trade.
  • Searches targeted locations in Mannebach, Bendorf, Weibern, Gummersbach, Hückelhoven, Troisdorf, Werne, Euskirchen, Windeck and Villmar.
  • Operations to remove the plants and process seized evidence are ongoing, and authorities have not yet released crop or seizure totals.
