German Leisure Surges on Weekends, Screen Time Dominates Free Hours

Average leisure falls to five hours 26 minutes on weekdays, rising to seven hours 45 minutes at weekends.

  • Social interactions took 75 minutes daily and cultural pursuits 53 minutes, while sport and non-communication device use averaged about 30 minutes each; activities like gardening, handicrafts and volunteering were excluded as unpaid work.
