German Handball Team Secures €475,000 Bonus for Potential World Championship Win

The incentive, negotiated ahead of the 2024 Handball World Championship, marks a €75,000 increase from last year due to higher sponsorship revenues.

The German handball team will receive a €475,000 team bonus if they win their first World Championship title since 2007.
If more than 19 players are used during the tournament, the bonus will rise to €500,000, distributed among the squad.
Each player would earn approximately €26,000 for a title win, as the bonus is shared collectively rather than on a per-player basis.
Bonuses for other placements include €350,000 for silver, €250,000 for bronze, and €60,000 for reaching the quarterfinals.
The team departs for Denmark on Monday, with their first match against Poland scheduled for January 15 in Herning.
