- Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe named Philipp Lahm, Dirk Nowitzki, Greta Blunck, Kathrin Boron, Britta Heidemann and Maria Höfl‑Riesch to the national Hall of Fame, with induction on November 19 in Frankfurt.
- DOSB president Thomas Weikert said the sextet amassed 54 major medals: 12 Olympic, 35 world and seven European, and the Hall now lists 137 members.
