German Football TV Split Takes Effect: Sky Keeps 2. Liga, DAZN Gets Saturday Conference and Sundays

The new cycle spreads live rights across platforms, increasing fragmentation for viewers.

Overview

  • Sky retains the Friday match and most Saturday singles including the 18:30 top game, and it broadcasts every 2. Bundesliga match live.
  • DAZN carries the Saturday 15:30 conference and all Sunday Bundesliga fixtures, holds most Champions League rights while Amazon Prime selects one Tuesday game per round, and both Sky and DAZN can offer full-match replays immediately after the final whistle.
  • Free-to-air windows remain defined as Sat.1 showing the season opener, the Supercup and all relegation ties, while RTL/NITRO/RTL+ air the 2. Bundesliga’s Saturday evening game across 33 dates.
  • MagentaSport remains the exclusive home of the 3. Liga with every match available live and on demand.
  • The 2025/26–2028/29 rights package returns about €1.121 billion per season to the 36 clubs.
