German Federal Prosecutors Charge Alleged Left-Wing Extremist with Attempted Murder

Hanna S. is accused of participating in violent attacks against right-wing individuals in Budapest as part of a militant group.

Hanna S., a 29-year-old alleged member of a leftist extremist group, is facing charges of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm.
Prosecutors claim Hanna S. joined the group in February 2023, which targets individuals from the right-wing spectrum with violence.
The group is accused of carrying out at least five attacks, including two in Budapest during the annual 'Day of Honor' event attended by European right-wing extremists.
Victims of the attacks were reportedly followed and then assaulted with blunt instruments such as hammers and batons, resulting in severe injuries.
Hanna S. was arrested in May 2024 in Nuremberg and has been held in custody since, with her case set to go before the Munich Higher Regional Court.
