German Duo Orlamünder and Gubitz Win Gold at Luge World Championships

Hannes Orlamünder and Paul Gubitz claimed their first World Championship gold in the doubles event, finishing ahead of Latvia's Bots/Plume and Germany's Wendl/Arlt.
The German luge team has earned seven medals so far at the World Championships in Canada, including two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes.
Julia Taubitz and Max Langenhan also contributed to Germany's success with a gold medal in the mixed relay event.
In the women's doubles event, German pairs Degenhardt/Rosenthal and Eitberger/Matschina secured silver and bronze, respectively, while Austria's Egle/Kipp defended their title.
Orlamünder and Gubitz, who have competed together since 2011, edged out their closest competitors with a 0.102-second lead after two runs.
