Overview

• Around 170 officers from the Finanzkontrolle Schwarzarbeit and ZUZ searched a scaffolding firm’s sites and ten residential and business premises across Hamburg, Bremen, Saxony and Bavaria on June 17
• Investigators froze €518,000 in corporate and client funds and seized documents detailing unpaid wages and company bank accounts
• Officers uncovered widespread labor violations, including minimum wage underpayments, unregistered employment and illegal foreign workers
• The operation follows a June 16 sweep by 2,800 customs officers inspecting construction sites in a broader campaign against black labor and tax evasion
• Seized records are now under analysis and authorities are preparing for possible additional legal proceedings
