Children's films dominated the box office, with six of the top ten films in 2024 belonging to the genre, led by 'Inside Out 2' with over 5.7 million tickets sold.
FFA attributed the decline to factors including the European Football Championship, the Olympics, and delays caused by Hollywood strikes in 2023.
The number of cinemas and screens in Germany saw minimal decreases of 1.3% and 1.2% respectively, with industry leaders emphasizing the need for sustained attention to prevent significant closures.
