Members of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party reportedly met with neo-Nazi activists and other far-right extremists to discuss a 'remigration' plan involving the deportation of immigrants, including those with German citizenship.
The meeting, which took place last November at a hotel near Berlin, was revealed by the investigative outlet Correctiv, causing widespread concern and condemnation in Germany.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz strongly condemned the alleged plan, stating that Germany will not allow anyone to be judged based on whether they have foreign roots or not.
The AfD, which has been steadily moving to the right since its inception and gaining support for its fierce anti-migrant views, is currently polling in second place nationally.
The party confirmed the attendance of some of its members at the meeting but denied that the reported proposals reflect its official policy.
