German Bundesliga Sets New Attendance Record for 2024/25 Season's First Half

A total of 10.38 million tickets were sold across the 1st and 2nd divisions, with the 2nd Bundesliga seeing unprecedented fan turnout.

  • The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) reported a record-breaking 10.38 million tickets sold during the first 17 matchdays of the 2024/25 season across the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga.
  • The 2nd Bundesliga experienced its highest-ever attendance, selling 4.55 million tickets, an increase from 4.28 million the previous year.
  • The Bundesliga's overall attendance slightly declined to 5.83 million from 5.99 million last season, but stadium occupancy rose to 95.9%, with 15 out of 18 clubs filling over 92% of their capacity.
  • The average ticket price for Bundesliga games remained stable at €26.75, reflecting the league's commitment to affordable fan experiences compared to other European leagues.
  • DFL officials attributed the attendance growth in the 2nd Bundesliga partly to club promotions and relegations, such as 1. FC Köln's move to the lower division, which brought larger stadium capacities to the league.
