German Biathlon Championships Open at Arber With Selection Stakes and Star Power

Overview

  • The three-day program runs Sept. 5–7 with short individual on Friday, sprint on Saturday and pursuit on Sunday.
  • Start times are scheduled for 11:00 for men and afternoon slots for women each day, beginning with Friday’s short individual races at 11:00 and 14:00.
  • Most of Germany’s A- and B-team are racing, including overall World Cup winner Franziska Preuß, who says she is eager to test her training in competition.
  • DSV sport director Felix Bitterling notes the results will feed into winter qualification and influence team selections for both World Cup and IBU Cup.
  • No free-to-air TV is planned, and the DSV expects to offer a free livestream on its official YouTube channel for the open championships that also feature some international entrants.
