The absence is not related to the 2019 Sugar Bowl incident where Texas' Bevo charged at Uga X, the previous mascot.
Charles Seiler, Uga's handler, cited the strain of travel on both the dog and himself as the primary reason for not attending.
Uga XI is young and has not yet experienced air travel or long bus rides, contributing to the decision to stay home.
This will be the second game Uga XI has missed this season, with previous absences being a common occurrence for longer trips.
