Georgia Tech Extends Football Coach Brent Key’s Contract Through 2029

The Yellow Jackets' head coach secures a five-year deal after leading the team to its best season since 2018 and back-to-back bowl appearances.

Brent Key's new five-year contract, approved by Georgia Tech's board of trustees, extends his tenure through the 2029 season.
The deal follows a 7-5 season, including a historic eight-overtime game against Georgia and an upset victory over then-No. 14 Miami.
Key has guided Georgia Tech to consecutive bowl appearances for the first time in a decade, achieving an 18-15 record overall and a 14-9 ACC record since taking over in 2022.
The contract is reported to include a significant pay raise, moving Key's salary from the bottom to the middle tier of ACC coaches.
Athletic director J Batt also received a five-year extension through 2029, recognizing his leadership during a period of growth and increased visibility for Georgia Tech athletics.
