Overview

• Deputies stopped the Bartow County school bus on U.S. 411 near the Burnt Hickory Road Connector after students reported the driver was swerving and unresponsive.
• An incident report says Lori Hagaman appeared confused, spoke with very slurred speech, struggled during field sobriety tests, and had an insulated cup that appeared to contain alcohol in the driver’s area.
• Hagaman is charged with driving a school bus under the influence, an open container violation, and 29 counts of reckless conduct, one for each student aboard.
• She was booked Friday and released Monday on a $30,200 bond, and the school district reports no students were injured and that she is no longer employed.
