Investigators discovered extensive evidence, including zip ties matching those used in the assault, fake cancer diagnosis documents, and suspicious internet searches like 'how to change your voice' and 'cancer letter from hospital.'
Surveillance footage showed Metzer purchasing zip ties days before the attack and returning to his apartment disheveled after the incident.
Metzer pleaded guilty to 14 charges, including kidnapping, sexual battery, and aggravated assault, and was sentenced to 70 years, with 25 years in prison and 45 years of probation.
Morgan Metzer has since focused on raising her children and advocating for awareness about gaslighting and domestic abuse.
