Georgia Judge Arrested for Assaulting Officer at Atlanta Nightclub

Douglas County Probate Judge Christina J. Peterson faces felony charges following an altercation with police during a night out.

Judge Christina J. Peterson allegedly struck a police officer and refused to identify herself at the Red Martini Restaurant and Lounge.
Peterson is charged with felony obstruction of law enforcement officers and simple battery against a police officer.
The judge has a history of misconduct, including a unanimous recommendation for removal from office by the Judicial Qualifications Commission.
Peterson lost the Democratic primary in May and is set to be succeeded by attorney Valerie Vie.
The Georgia Supreme Court has yet to decide on Peterson's punishment for previous ethics violations.
