• Police say 48-year-old Stacy Wheeler Cobb was running an unlicensed daycare at her Valdosta home when the attack occurred on Oct. 4 around 3:45 p.m.
• Cobb told investigators she had been napping for more than two hours, during which the child got outside, opened a kennel, and released two large Rottweilers that fatally mauled him.
• The victim, identified in local reporting as 2-year-old Kaimir Jones, was the only child at the residence that day, though police say Cobb typically watched about ten children.
• Cobb was arrested and booked into Lowndes County Jail on felony counts of second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children, with additional charges possible.
• Lowndes County Animal Control seized the two Rottweilers involved and a third dog, and a GoFundMe started by the boy’s mother had raised over $18,000 by Monday.
