George Maharis, Star of ‘Route 66,’ Dies at 94

George Maharis, actor known for role as Buz Murdock in the hit TV show "Route 66," died at the age of 94.
Maharis left "Route 66" after the third season, reportedly due to health issues and rumors surrounding his sexuality.
Maharis continued acting in TV movies and series but never reached the same level of fame as "Route 66."
Maharis was raised in New York's Hell's Kitchen and trained as an actor at the Actors Studio.
In addition to acting, Maharis also had a successful music career, releasing seven albums.
