• The 3-year-old gelding broke down with about 70 yards remaining in the second race on Aug. 30 and was euthanized on the track.
• Del Mar said the horse suffered a catastrophic injury to his right front fetlock, and jockey Antonio Fresu escaped unharmed after jumping clear.
• General Jackson was making his 11th career start and first at Del Mar, racing for owner David Landeros and trainer Genardo Vallejo after a $12,500 claim in June at Los Alamitos.
• It is the second fatality of the summer meet, following the Aug. 2 euthanasia of Uncrowned King after a fractured shoulder in a five-furlong turf race.
