'General Hospital' star John J. York reveals cancer diagnoses, takes break for treatment

John J. York has been diagnosed with two blood and bone marrow disorders, myelodysplastic syndromes and multiple smoldering myeloma.
He has undergone bone marrow biopsies, chemotherapy, and is preparing for a blood stem cell transplant.
York will take a 3-4 month break from General Hospital to focus on treatment.
He is working with Be The Match to find a donor and encourages others to join the registry.
York expressed gratitude for the support and said he will return to General Hospital after treatment.
