GE Appliances has launched the GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker, a device that allows users to smoke food indoors without setting off fire alarms.
The smoker, which was initially known as the Arden and raised over $800,000 on Indiegogo, uses Active Smoke Filtration technology to create wood smoke from pellets and combine it with an electric heating element.
The GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker can hold up to 40 chicken wings or a 14-pound turkey at once and has five smoke presets and six food-specific settings.
The smoker also features a Smoke and Hold function that keeps food at safe temperatures for up to 24 hours, and all of its racks and drip trays are dishwasher safe.
The device can be controlled and monitored via the GE Profile Connect+ app, and the company plans to add features like guided recipes in the future.
