Overview

• The Nagaland Staff Selection Board cancelled the entire recruitment and the February 24, 2024 written exam in compliance with the High Court order.
• The court set aside the May 22 provisional results and a May 23 corrigendum that excluded Female Health Worker candidates and inserted 68 additional names for viva-voce.
• Judges held that the state’s reliance on a so-called queue system had no basis in the Nagaland Nursing Services Rules, 1988.
• The state must amend the 1988 rules within 45 days, the Health Department must requisition the posts to NSSB within 15 days under Regulation 14, and NSSB must issue a new advertisement within 15 days and complete recruitment within six months.
• Candidates from the cancelled round may reapply with age relaxation for the intervening period, and NSSB will issue public notices in newspapers and on its website.
