Gates and Peppers Announced as First-Time Finalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame

Antonio Gates and Julius Peppers have been announced as first-time finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2024 class.
Other first-time finalists include Eric Allen, Rodney Harrison, Fred Taylor and Jahri Evans.
Up to five members of the Modern-Era Player category can be selected, each requiring a minimum of 80 percent of votes to be elected.
Gates holds the NFL record for most touchdowns by a tight end and Peppers holds the Panthers franchise records in sacks and forced fumbles.
The final announcement for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2024 will be made on February 8 during NFL Honors.
