GATE 2027 Registration Opens With DigiLocker Mandatory for Indian Candidates

It requires Indian applicants to verify DigiLocker accounts before applying to prevent submission delays.

Overview

  • Registration opened Thursday, August 27, 2026, on the official portal gate2027.iitm.ac.in and candidates must apply through the GOAPS system.
  • All Indian nationals must have a verified DigiLocker account linked to their GOAPS registration or their application may be delayed or rejected.
  • Application fees are charged per test paper and vary by category with female/SC/ST/PwD candidates paying ₹1,000 in the regular window and ₹1,500 in the extended window while other candidates pay ₹2,000 and ₹2,500 respectively.
  • The schedule names city allotment on January 4, 2027, exams across three weeks in February (Feb 6–7, Feb 13–14, Feb 20–21) and results on March 19, 2027, while admit-card release remains to be announced.
  • Applicants must upload a valid photo ID, recent photo, scanned signature and any caste, PwD or dyslexia certificates as applicable and should note that IIT Madras has added a new Robotics and Automation paper and revised several syllabi for GATE 2027.
