GATE 2026 Regular Registration Closes Sept. 28 as Late-Fee Window Runs to Oct. 9

Applications run only through IIT Guwahati’s GOAPS portal with higher category-based fees in the extended window.

Overview

  • Registration without late fee ends on September 28, 2025 at gate2026.iitg.ac.in under IIT Guwahati’s stewardship.
  • Candidates can still apply from the extended window through October 9 by paying ₹1,500 per paper for female/SC/ST/PwD and ₹2,500 for others, up from the regular ₹1,000 and ₹2,000.
  • GATE 2026 is slated for February 7, 8, 14 and 15, with organisers stating that core papers (CE, EC, EE, GE, GG, IN, ME, PI) will not be held on February 8 to avoid a UPSC ESE clash and that the February 8 slot may move to February 6 or 16.
  • Results are scheduled for March 19, 2026, and the exam will run in two daily shifts: 9:30 am–12:30 pm and 2:30 pm–5:30 pm.
  • Eligible applicants include graduates or those in the third year or higher across engineering, science, architecture, commerce, arts and humanities, who must log in with an Enrollment ID and password, upload documents and pay online.
