Overview
- The GOAPS window opens August 25 with regular registration until September 25 and an extended period with late fee through October 6.
- Exams are scheduled for February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026 in two daily shifts (9:30 am–12:30 pm and 2:30 pm–5:30 pm), with results due March 19, 2026.
- Revised per‑paper fees are ₹1,000 for Female/SC/ST/PwD and ₹2,000 for others during the regular window, rising to ₹1,500 and ₹2,500 in the extended window.
- GATE 2026 features 30 papers and introduces Energy Science (XE‑I) under Engineering Sciences, with updated approved two‑paper combinations and the option to sit one or two papers.
- Applicants must upload a photo, signature and valid photo ID plus relevant SC/ST, PwD or dyslexia certificates, and choose three cities within a single zone as centres may be reassigned by the organiser.
