Overview

  • Oldman was knighted by King Charles III on June 13 for services to drama, marking his first royal accolade after more than four decades in acting.
  • He said he was “gobsmacked” by the recognition and spoke of feeling “indescribable humility and pride” as he thought of his late mother.
  • The accolade follows his Academy Award–winning turn as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour and his portrayal of Jackson Lamb in Apple TV+’s Slow Horses.
  • He recently ended a 37-year absence from the stage to star in and direct Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape at the York Theatre Royal.
  • Apple TV+ has confirmed that Slow Horses season five will premiere on September 24, with season six already filmed.
