• The viewer-decided National Television Awards saw Lineker top Ant & Dec, Claudia Winkleman, Alison Hammond and Stacey Solomon for Best TV Presenter.
• In his speech, Lineker said the result suggests presenters can use their platforms to speak up for those without a voice.
• Netflix’s Adolescence won New Drama and its young lead Owen Cooper took Drama Performance after the series helped drive discussion on online safety.
• Other winners included Michael McIntyre’s Big Show (Bruce Forsyth Entertainment), EastEnders (Serial Drama), Call the Midwife (Returning Drama), I’m A Celebrity (Reality Competition) and The 1% Club (Quiz Show).
