Gardaí Seek Dash-Cam Footage After Fatal Donegal Crash Kills Nurse and Daughter

  • Natalie McLaughlin, a registered nurse in her 20s from Carndonagh, died Thursday evening at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital after being transferred from Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.
  • Her six-year-old daughter Ella was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6:30pm collision on July 2 on the R240.
  • Husband Tyrone Irwin and two-year-old daughter Rhea Rose remain hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • Forensic Collision Investigators closed the R240 overnight for a technical examination and reopened it Thursday afternoon.
  • Gardaí have appealed for anyone with dash-cam footage or witness accounts from between 6pm and 6:30pm on July 2 to come forward.
