Gap Taps Sandy Liang for Denim-Led Capsule Launching Friday

The drop extends Gap’s designer-collab strategy to refresh its heritage through limited capsules.

  • The limited collection goes live Friday, Oct. 10 at 9 a.m. ET on gap.com and in select Gap stores including The Grove (Los Angeles), 2 Folsom (San Francisco), Flatiron and Times Square (New York), and Tysons Corner (Virginia), plus Sandy Liang’s New York flagship.
  • Denim anchors the women’s lineup with pieces such as a pleated mini skirt ($88), low-rise ’90s loose carpenter jeans ($108) and a crop denim jacket with vegan fur trim ($128), alongside refreshed heavyweight fleece with bow and arch logos.
  • An animated short, “Sandy’s Dream Closet,” animated by Annie Choi and shot and directed by Sophie Hur, draws on Liang’s Lower East Side memories above her father’s Congee Village restaurant and will run across digital and in-store screens.
  • Liang’s first kids’ offering arrives as online-exclusive baby and toddler mini matchbacks inspired by women’s fleece and outerwear, with her son, Rainer, appearing in the campaign.
  • Availability includes select international markets and Zalando, with prices ranging from $15 to $268.
