Gap Sets London Store Comeback With Covent Garden Flagship on Nov. 6, Two More in December

The move follows a Next partnership that kept the brand trading via concessions alongside ecommerce after its 2021 exit.

Overview

  • The retailer will reopen at 30–31 Long Acre in Covent Garden on November 6, followed by Westfield London on December 4 and Wembley Park’s London Designer Outlet on December 12.
  • The new locations will stock womenswear, menswear and childrenswear, with the flagship featuring heritage displays and core essentials such as denim, tees, hoodies and fleeces.
  • Gap’s return marks its first standalone UK stores since it closed all 81 company-operated shops in the UK and Republic of Ireland in 2021.
  • Gap continues to operate in the market through a joint venture with Next, which holds 51% to Gap’s 49% and runs ecommerce via Total Platform.
  • The relaunch aligns with a broader brand refresh that includes a recent campaign featuring Gwyneth Paltrow and Apple Martin.
