Gangster Gajanan Marne Arrested Over Assault on BJP Worker in Pune

• Gajanan Marne, a notorious gangster with a history of violent crime, was arrested for his involvement in the assault on BJP worker Devendra Jog in Pune's Kothrud area on February 19, 2025.
• The assault occurred during a Shiv Jayanti procession when Jog, attempting to navigate through the crowded area, was verbally and physically attacked by members of the Marne gang, leaving him seriously injured.
• The Pune Police have arrested multiple suspects, including Marne and the main accused Babya Pawar, and have invoked the stringent MCOCA to address the gang's organized criminal activities.
• Authorities are investigating the gang's assets, vehicles, and financial transactions, with plans to seize properties linked to Marne and his associates as part of a comprehensive crackdown.
• A special task force has been established to dismantle the Marne gang, and police have conducted raids at 74 locations while urging the public to provide confidential information about the gang's activities.
