The 'Games for Gaza' fundraiser, hosted on itch.io, features a bundle of 256 items including games, stories, soundtracks, and game assets. All proceeds are directed towards Medical Aid For Palestinians (MAP), a UK-based charity delivering essential health care in Palestine.
The fundraising bundle reached and surpassed its initial goal of $10,000 within hours of its launch on October 27, collecting over $17,000 by midday.
In addition to financial assistance, MAP is committed to advocating for Palestinian voices internationally, drawing attention to the injustices resulting from occupation, displacement, and conflict.
The fundraiser was created in response to escalating regional violence in Palestine following an attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, leading to ongoing conflict and a high death toll among Palestinians.
The bundle's organizer, game designer Esther, encourages supporters to take further actions in aid of Palestine, such as learning about the region and its challenges, and calling for an end to the occupation.
